MEDICO-LEGAL EVALUATION & SERVICES
Dr. Chris Wiggins is familiar with the many varied aspects of the medicolegal system, from examining the patient, to treating the injury, to providing comprehensive reports and, finally, testifying by deposition or in trial when required.
In fact, Dr. Wiggins, has even authored a book on the subject: Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal Impairment Rating: A Concise Guide. The easy-to-read guide is published by Lippincott, Williams, & Wilkins, an authoritative
publisher of scientific and medical works.
For clients seeking evaluations, whether they are insurance adjusters, attorneys, or individual patients, we offer a fair and comprehensive review of their medical case in a timely manner. Our goal is to deal with the facts based on sound medical opinion.

April E. Baughman, LNHA, LCP is familiar with the many varied aspects of the medicolegal system from  expert witnessing, assessing individual needs,  to auditing medical & billing records for projecting current & future needs with associated costs in regards to catastrophic, traumatic, or chronic health care conditions.  Finally, a life care plan is created for use by both plaintiff and defense counsel, insurance companies, and others to determine the future medical needs including costs for the duration of care of the individual.  Testifying by deposition or in trial is available as well.
The following are some of the services we offer:
  • Brief Review of medical records, either with a phone report or written narrative.
  • Extended Review of medical reports with written narrative. This would include such items as an impairment rating, prognosis, considerations for further medical management, estimate of future medical expenses.
  • Patient examination with record review
  • Conference with case worker, attorney or other interested party (with patient permission)
  • Deposition*
  • Court testimony*
  • Disability evaluation
  • Patient Examinations and follow-up (in selected cases)
  • Patient Examinations including IME and reports
  • Life Care Planning including interview, record review, research, & analysis for both plaintiff and defense counsel, insurance companies and others to determine the future medical needs and costs for the duration of care of the individual.
  • Expert Witnessing
We have found that the brief review is a service seldom offered by traditional medical evaluators. It is, however, one that is quite useful in the preliminary evaluation of a case. In a cost-effective fashion, it provides the inquiring party with the medical considerations of the case. As such, the brief report can be viewed as a “rough draft” of the medical considerations in the case and a forecast of what would be the formal opinion. It can be given by phone to the inquiring party then, if desired, as a written brief report or converted to a more detailed presentation as an extended review.
In all cases, it is suggested that a phone call as to the details of the case take place with the physician before a report is rendered. For a fee schedule or questions, please contact April Baughman (228) 382-6722 or email premierhealth001@gmail.com.
